Kanye West and Lady Gaga’s joint tour has been cancelled.

The ‘Love Lockdown’ star and the ‘Poker Face’ singer had planned a string of shows, which were due to start next month and run until January.

However, the tour – entitled ‘Fame Kills’, and which had been planned for months – is no longer going ahead. Promoters Live Nation are yet to offer any explanation.

The news comes just weeks after Kanye was heavily criticised for invading the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards to insist his friend Beyonce Knowles should have won.

He made several apologies and then appeared on US TV and blamed his outburst on failing to grieve properly following his mother’s death in 2007.

He said: "So many celebrities, they never take the time off. I've never taken the time off to really - you know? Just music after music and tour after tour. I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt... But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve."
