Heather Mills’ false leg fell off in a supermarket.

The model and charity campaigner – who lost part of her left limb when she was hit by a police motorcycle in 1993 – had to be rescued by two youths after taking a tumble while out shopping.

She wrote on her Twitter page: “Slipped on spilled milk while being followed down supermarket aisle by two teenage boys, ended up on my a*s but they rescued my leg and me.”

Heather thanked her ‘heroes’ and is believed to have been left relatively unhurt by the accident.

Meanwhile, Heather has unveiled plans to release a meat-free dog food. In response to a poster who had remarked their dog loved meat substitute Quorn, Heather wrote on her Twitter page: “I'm developing a Vegan dog food. Quorn has eggs (cholesterol) so try Vegan, no intensive farming.”

The 41-year-old star is preparing to open her first vegan restaurant, V-Bites, in Brighton next month. The blonde star - who is divorced from Sir Paul McCartney – has promised potential diners they will be shocked by how delicious the restaurant’s food will be.

She said: "I think the food is really going to surprise everyone. Most people's diet is 70 per cent vegan anyway, as they eat rice, pasta and bread, but they just don't associate the two.

"What is going to shock people most is the meat replacements. I have been working on them for seven years and they have a real meat taste."
