GEORGE MICHAEL can command more than £1million for just an hour's work.

His latest accounts, published today, show that he earned a total of £48,499,893 between April 2006 and March 2008.

Much of the income comes from private gigs for the super-rich and does not include his income from songwriting and record sales.

In December 2006, 45-year-old Michael was paid £1,606,856 to sing 13 songs at a News Year’s Eve party thrown by Russian nickel magnate Vladimir Potanin.

Months later, the former Wham! star charged £1,521,916 for a gig on an island in the Indian Ocean for billionaire retailer Sir Philip Green’s 55th birthday party.

In 2006, Michael returned to the stage after a 15-year gap when he barely played live at all.

The figures were published in accounts for his touring company Twentyfive Live and is the first time his earnings have been fully detailed.
