Love came back to town when U2's Bono and The Edge joined BB King on stage this week for the Thelonious Monk Institute Jazz Founders Award at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

Every year, the Institute hands over the most coveted award in jazz.

It has been won by Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, George Benson and Clint Eastwood. (Yes, Eastwood is also a jazz musician).

This year King won the Jazz Founder's Award and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen was given the Herbie Hancock Humanitarian Award for his work in the music industry.

The highlight on the evening was Bono and The Edge joining King to once their Rattle and Hum hit 'When Love Comes To Town'.
