‘Star in the Hood’ Tinchy Strider brought his big voice to headline the second weekend of UK’s biggest indoor winter music event, The Big Reunion Festival, performing for a record crowd.
Following a big show by the beat-dropping Calvin Harris last week, Tinchy didn’t disappoint his throbbing mass of fans waiting for the renowned artist to serve up a fresh set of grime tunes, including the popular hit ‘Strider Man’.
The party kicked off on Friday night with artists including Judge Jules, DJ Ironic, Lisa Lashes and Tim Westwood pumping out the Skegness bass, and followed through until the early hours of Sunday morning with indie rock bands including The Holloways and The Wombats rasing the roof.
Throughout the weekend artists and celebs found refuge in the Gio Goi bus, hosts of the official aftershow parties, decked out with an uber cool interior and hard beats, guests checked out the latest threads from the music industry’s favourite clothing brand.
The Big Reunion fills six arenas with a mix of music and more than 15,000 people resulting in three entertainment-packed back-to-back weekends. Held over two nights, 12 leading promoters from the dance, urban and indie scenes and more than 60 live acts makes this event by far the best thing about winter. This event is officially the grand finale to the UK’s festival annum and the last chance to catch the hottest acts of summer.
The festival has rocked the UK each November since 2001 and it’s easy to see why. Renowned for its huge 360-degree music policy, the huge line-up boasts the biggest line up of live bands, DJs, acts and promoters at one UK event.
For 2009 The Big Reunion steps up another gear with an unrivalled line-up of headline stars, supporting acts and dance promoters.
Dizzee Rascal, supported by Andy George, will headline the third and final weekend next week.
