Music producer Mark Ronson has denied spending the night in a hotel room with troubled singer Amy Winehouse.

Ronson, who produced Winehouse's last album Back To Black, was accused of romancing the star after the pair were reported to have stayed at the K West Hotel in London together on Friday night after an alcohol-fuelled recording session.

However, the 32-year-old has rubbished the reports that they are having an affair, insisting the pair are just friends.

He says, "We were pictured together at the weekend but we didn't spend the night together and we weren't even working in the studio.

"We were just running around London, hanging out, going to a house party. I went to her house for a bit and she played me some new songs and then we went out."

Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is currently being held on remand at London's Pentonville Prison on charges of perverting the course of justice, was said to be furious at reports his wife had spent the night with Ronson. It was another blow for Fielder-Civil who was also reported to have been angered by Winehouse's decision to spend a festive holiday in the Caribbean with her ex-boyfriend George Roberts.
