MADONNA has revealed that she was planning to join Michael Jackson on stage during his comeback tour.

Her manager Guy Oseary said the singer wanted to make a surprise appearance at one of Jackson's O2 arena concerts, which were scheduled to begin on July 13.

Writing on his Twitter page, Oseary said: "The moment that never happened: A month ago Madonna told me she wanted to do a surprise performance at one of Michael Jackson's UK shows..."

On hearing the news about his death, Madonna said she "can't stop crying".

Although Madonna and the late singer never collaborated, they discussed recording a duet for his 1991 album Dangerous.

But plans fell through after Jackson reportedly deemed her ideas too provocative.
