Kelis and Nas expecting first child

Kelis and Nas are expecting their first child together.

The 'Milkshake' singer and the 'I Can' hitmaker are thrilled with the news they will be expanding their family later this year.

A source said: "It's all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty! They are so excited."

Kelis, 29, and Nas, 35, tied the knot in 2005 after two years together.

Although Kelis has no children, Nas has a 15-year-old daughter, Destiny, from a previous relationship.

Kelis has previously spoken about her desire to start a family - but admits she is worried about the effect pregnancy would have on her figure.

She said: I want a whole bunch of kids. But I want to enjoy my size eight body while I can. I'm actually a little scared about the idea of getting big, so I do lots of Tae Bo!"
