Goldie Lookin Chain are inviting the world into their studio from September 28th by releasing the single and remix app for Everybody Is a DJ through 1983 recordings. This track is taken from their current album Asbo4Life.
Eggsy says ‘Everybody is bloody playing music on their mobile phones, I even saw two old women in their sixties playing dub step to each other on the back of the bus the other day. Now, we don’t only give you the chance to play our tunes via a telecommunications device, but we are also giving you the chance to remix our song, sell it on, and play it where ever you want, in the bogs, at work, a wedding, a funeral of or even at a christening’
Everybody Is a DJ will be released as a download single, but the second format the band are putting out is a Musicshake remix application, a downloadable remix toy, which will enable anyone who buys it to make their own remix of the track. Including adding their own vocals. People will also be able to sell their own version of the track to friends and family through the Musicshake website, with all the proceeds going to Shelter Cymru.
Eggsy continues; ‘Shelter Cymru is our chosen charity, not only because they seem to be the only charity willing to work with us, but because they are running their The Time Is Now campaign to get derelict houses made habitable. Shelter Cymru don’t care about those things we said and did in the past, they just want to get roofs over the heads of people in Wales. So they too can do a remix, have a house party, and tear the place up just like the rest of the country will be doing. Because EVERYBODY is a DJ’
