During summer Chasing Pandora performed several London concerts to great critical acclaim.
They were so impressed with the attentive audiences and creative ambiance of the venues that they returned to Malta determined to find a place where they and their friends could play in an atmosphere conducive to acoustic music.
After much searching they found ChiaroScuro, formally Labyrinth in Strait Street, Valletta, which has performance area that is separate from the bar and comfortably accommodates around 200 persons.
Jack Daniels whisky has kindly offered to sponsor the first 7 concerts ‘Acoustic Roots’ which will take place every Friday starting November 7, between 2100h and 2300h.
Chasing Pandora have confirmed some of Malta’s finest and most respected artists to join them on stage to collaborate on interpretations of their own songs as well as favorites by other writers. In addition to the very special guests each week, they will provide a platform for new aspiring musicians to play their own compositions, hoping to give new talent a platform to show their ability.
There will be a nominal entrance fee of €2 and the concerts will not follow any set format and could include anything from spontaneous jamming to poetry reading.
This type of music might be different from what the local audience usually looks for, but it might be worth a try. Don’t be surprised to see some of Malta’s most well-known artists appearing on stage. They would simply want to share their love of music.
All singers/songwriters are urged to send a demo to the Tickety-boo management. Who knows, you might be chosen as one of the new and aspiring artists to perform at the Friday event each week.
