'Exchange' brings together 17 stunning remixes by electronic maverick producer Michael Fakesch (Musik Aus Strom / !K7) into one stunning creation. Featuring his remixes of Mr. Oizo, Booka Shade, Bomb The Bass, Von Südenfed, Herbert, Jimmy Edgar, Towa Tei, Notwist, Hexstatic and more, Fakesch adds his own unique stamp on some of today's most inspiring artists.

Michael Fakesch used to be one half of Funkstörung (R.I.P.). From 1994 until their break-up in 2006 the two electronic wizards have been pioneers in combining weird beats, digital electro-madness and beautiful melodies. Their merciless remixes for Björk and Wu-Tang Clan marked their breakthrough and gained them international fame.

After the demise of Funkstörung Michael Fakesch concentrated on doing sound designs for commercials (e.g. Toyota, Sony, Vodafone, Kia, Philips,....) and even won the Grand Prix 2009 of the Cannes Golden Lions. He made music for short movies (e.g. 'Between'), he has reprocessed soundtracks (e.g. for the Oscar awarded Shortfilm 'Glas'), did drafts for Hollywood scores (e.g. 'Shoot Em Up') and -of course- also did remixes!

For the remix compilation 'Exchange' Michael Fakesch collected all his best remixes and therewith builds up on Funkstörung's milestones 'Additional Productions' or 'Viceversa'. On show are the funky interpretations for Herbert and Towa Tei, a nearly Radiohead'ish version of Bomb The Bass, the deep reshaping of Notwist or the (almost) dancefloor-compatible remixes for Booka Shade, Jimmy Edgar or Raz Ohara...not to forget the killer reworks for Mr. Oizo, Hexstatic or Von Südenfed.

Due to the fact most of the remixes were never released or just available in very limited amounts, this remix compilation can be considered to be a new Fakesch album, whose predecessor 'dos' (!K7 Records) is almost 3 years of age.
