Last year the first ever S.A.M.A ceremony saw bands such as a pimped out La Fontaines pick up an award and hosts included Jim Gellatly and Billy Kirkwood as a packed out Classic Grand witnessed a night of award winning live music with a celebratory atmosphere.

Http://www.sama11.co.uk/ launched this week in a rather unique and interesting fashion as special, surprise guests The Winter Tradition played a live, acoustic performance that was streamed online to hundreds of music fans in Scotland and round the world.

I caught up with Richey Muirhead (Father of the SAMA`s brainchild) and asked him about it all. "Last year I was blown away by he response so obviously it made a lot of sense to do it again this year bigger and better than last time" He obviously has more expectation on his shoulders this year so it was a shrewd move to launch the official site with a set from a popular band from our nation`s capital.

Speaking on The Winter Traditions online set "I loved their acoustic performance, the sound quality was great and everyone in the stream stuck around until the end. Good atmosphere! It was a slight risk, but if you don't try these things - you'll never know the outcome. It was certainly a nice way to welcome the official website! Big thanks to the band."

He was slightly more coy about who will be playing the SAMAs this year (Classic Grand, Glasgow on Feb 25th) and who is nominated "Nominees and further surprises will be announced over the next few weeks. Keep your eyes on the website and twitter!" he said. Not even so much as a hint but surely The Winter Tradition must be in with a shout for a nomination (or Two?)
